Memorable sixth birthday party

First I would like to thank all of those who left encouraging comments on yesterday's post, I am glad to know I can count on the support of my readers!

And now for the lowdown on my chaotic Saturday. My day started at five in the morning to the news that a pipe had burst in the front yard and the city had cut off our water supply. Yes I had no running water on the day of my nephew's sixth birthday party! Luckily we were having it at a park, if we had planned to have it at our house I don't know what we would've done.

We left to the Ed R Levin Park (unwashed and without using a restroom) at eight to decorate and score a good spot near a parking lot. We finished up and came back home wondering where in the world we were going to shower. We ended up showering and getting ready at my uncle's home, we didn't really have much time so we left straight to the park from there with wet hair and unsightly brows. Oh and I didn't have a chance to wash the long-sleeved shirt I wanted to wear because I mistakenly believed it to be clean and folded in my drawer, so naturally I was cold at the park (again I didn't wash sweaters). A bit of advice at this point, don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today because you never know if you'll have water or not :D

So we made it to the park and finished setting up and started cooking the food. Then we realized we still needed some stuff so my sister and I went off on yet another trip to our house. I think at this point we had three trips to and from the park. Lovely. It was all for a good cause though, my nephew had a blast and at his age he isn't aware of the behind the scenes yet, but I definitely have a story for him when he is older!

No kids party is complete without games, a Pokemon pinata, and a Spongebob cake!

After a long (but fun) day at the park, it was time to head home and relax. My Dad (bless his soul) spent the majority of his day (and the party) working on that darn pipe so we had running water at the end of the day hooray!

Happy Tuesday!

Aww!! Happy Birthday to your nephew! We've been celebrating our fair share of family birthdays too! Great cake and what a picturesque park!! The parks around my way look nothing like this!

It seriously doesn't get any better than having a Sponge Bob party with family and friends. I love the pics. Kids are to cute.
